Creating a group from received email

Hello!

I would like to create a group in my address book by selecting email addresses in an email I received. I have looked for a discussion on this topic and the one suggestion I did find sounded logical... create group, highlight email addresses in the email, drag and drop into the group created in address book. Didn't work. any suggestions? I am trying to add it from my MacBook Pro running 10.9.5
